Before applying for the asylum, I need to find the answer on the one but crucial in my move to the USA question. My name is Ekaterina and, belonging to LGBTQ+ community, I feel myself in danger now living in Russia. Therefore, I would like to move to the USA with my partner where I would be the main asylum seeker. But the point is, that he is currently studying in France on language courses lasting half a year. So, he has a student visa, category D, having a residence permit - and I do worry that he will not pass with me due to that fact. I have read in the Internet that having a residence permit in another country will prevent a person (even though being a family member but not the one who is applying for asylum) from getting an asylum in the United States.

Хотела бы узнать, сможем ли мы с дочерью получить визу и переехать вместе?

Ситуация. Я мариуполец (донецкая область Украины). Всю жизнь жил тут и живу сейчас. Во время бомбежек Мариуполя когда заходила Россия, я жил в подвале около месяца. Даже прилёты были в МОЙ дом раз 10, мне реально крупно повезло что я выжил, даже видео кое-какие есть что вот за стеной прилетает град или самолет кидает бомбу.
